Q Why become an IAQC
Certified member?
A Because, IAQC members are recognized as the industry
professionals in the mold inspection, testing, and remediation field. To date,
we know of no other government, state, or local entity with this extensive
standardized of protocol for mold inspections, testing, and remediation. The
mold remediation industry, until now has been unregulated and without
standardized protocols describing every step from the initial inspection to
clearance testing. The IAQC protocol is the new national standard for mold
remediation recognized by environmental professionals around the world.
Q What certifications are
available through IAQC?
A
There are currently 11 different nationally recognized certifications
available to qualified applicants and 5 group classifications to obtain a master
level certification.
Q What is required to become
a certified member? A
Membership does not require a course, only the promise that you will adhere to
the IAQC standards and protocols. Each certification Applicant must attend an on-site class or complete a computer
course and pass a test for each certification.

required to advance through the levels and obtain a "Master Level
Certification"? A
To advance in class levels you must obtain the required certifications in order.

Q What material is available
to study for these tests? A A study guide is provided at the start of each course or an
on-line study guide is downloaded for computer courses.
Q As the owner of the
remediation crew, do all of my technicians need to be certified?
A
Yes, but only certified to their classification. Most of your crew may only
require certification as a "Remediation Technician or Product Application
Specialist" and complete the courses pertaining to these classification. While the crew chief
or foreman may require
additional certifications in Containment, Project Management, Product Application, etc...
Q Do all of my employees need
to join to become members? A
No, individual membership is not required. Your employees can become members
under your company group enrollment plan and only apply for the certifications
they require.
Q How long is
a certification good for?
A
While Membership renewal is required yearly, all certifications are good for two years from the issue date and will
only require
an on-line refresher course for renewal. Refresher courses are designed to keep
you informed of new techniques, products, and industry trends. These refresher courses are
also an
accumulation of problems and solutions sent in by out network of certified
members to ensure IAQC members remain on the cutting edge of technology.
